Sunderland Have got knee trouble
Goalkeeper Craig Gordon is set to miss four to six months after undergoing knee surgery, manager Steve Bruce has confirmed. The Scottish international went under the knife in Sweden yesterday after flying out to see world-renowed tendon specialist Professor Hakan Alfredson. Campbell had previously gone under the knife after tearing his cruciate ligaments in the 1-0 win over Manchester City in August. He returned to full training last month but twisted the joint during a training session in the build-up to the return match against City at the beginning of April. Manager Steve Bruce said yesterday that the frontman could be out for up to 12 months depending on the outcome of the operation.
